Habia CEO Joan Scott is a World Skills UK ambassador. If you need any support to get involved in the competitions, email her at joan.scott@skillsactive.com. There is also the opportunity for your organisation to join the WorldSkills Centre of Excellence. This year registration opens on Monday 26th February, with only a short 4 week window to register your learners. Prepare early by holding internal and classroom competitions (also called pressure tests). There is an initial passive/entry stage that can be undertaken from the classroom environment, with no need to travel to take part. The next stage are the regional heats, where the national finalists are selected. All competitions can enhance the curriculum and have many benefits for full-time learners and apprentices. Many take part in a variety of hairdressing and barbering competitions as well as those provided by the AHT and at the Professional Beauty shows.
