Fantastic news- many of our beauty treatments can be performed from Monday. HOWEVER, it does not include the highest risk zone -directly in front of the face. This means treatments such as facials, make-up, lashes/brows, should not be performed until govt. advice changes, due to the much greater risk of transmission.
The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Beauty, Aesthetics & Wellbeing is encouraging members of the industry to write to their local MP, calling for the Govt to allow beauty, spa and wellness services to re-open alongside hairdressers and provide immediate clarity on when. Habia has been asked to look at the draft Govt. guidance which was sent late yesterday, Still uncertain when the guidelines will be published, but progress is being made. It's still 4th July at the earliest for re-opening in England, no dates yet for the other three nations.

The Government is reporting daily on the steps they are taking to fight the virus, protect the economy and support businesses and individuals. Initially it was announced that gyms and leisure centers had to close. Spas and massage services were included in this category. This was followed soon after by another announcement that all beauty, nail and hair salons had to close.,

A petition has been created on behalf of the hair and beauty industry to lobby the UK government for an economic hardship relief package to help the industry recover from the impact of the pandemic. Everyone across the industry who fees passionately about this is sharing it widely.
